“If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely” Roald Dhal

I believe that every young person should feel like they have a voice and the opportunity to be heard, so your child can feel reassured that my kind, caring and compassionate nature will support them in feeling safe and comfortable in my therapy environment.

I work in a solution focused way, which means your child will focus on how they would like things to be, rather than excessively going over past problems and I support them in identifying how they would like to be feeling or behaving instead and help them to make those changes in behaviour or thoughts necessary to achieve that.

Areas I can help with include anxiety, exam stress, depression, fears and phobias, OCD and trauma. As well as teaching children strategies and techniques to manage their emotions better, I also help them to understand their brains in relation to well-being, enabling them to understand how they have a level of control over their mental health and what they can do more of (or less of) to feel more in control and overcome anxiety and stress more independently as they go through life.

Before becoming a therapist I have worked with children for over 20 years in schools and SEN settings and alongside my private practice I continue to work in a High School supporting 6th formers with additional needs. I am also experienced and confident supporting children who have a range of special educational needs including Autism, Dyslexia, Downs syndrome and ADHD.

Becoming a Youth Fairy therapist has enabled me to continue using all my previous knowledge and skills working with young people in a different context, making a positive difference to the mental health of our next generation.

I am fully insured and hold an advanced DBS certificate. I am also a member of the following professional associations:

  • National Board for Modern Psychotherapy (NBMP)
  • National Council For Hypnotherapy (NCH)
  • Association For Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH)
  • Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

I have 2 daughters aged 24 and 15 and have recently moved to Marple, after living in the High Peak for over 20 years. We have 2 rescue dogs and a cat .I enjoy going on long walks with my dogs in my free time.
